WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Snap-On Inc. (SNA) released a profit for its third quarter that advanced from last year.
The company said its bottom line totaled $131.7 million, or $2.22 per share. This was higher than $116.8 million, or $1.98 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.15 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.5% to $834.1 million. This was up from $821.5 million last year.
