WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Kimberly-Clark Corp. (KMB) announced the company now expects its 2016 adjusted earnings per share to be $5.95 to $6.05 compared to the previous guidance range of $5.95 to $6.15. Organic sales growth is expected to be 2 percent compared to the prior expectation for growth at the low end of the 3 to 5 percent range. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect the company to report profit per share of $6.08. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Third-quarter adjusted earnings per share were $1.52 compared to $1.51, prior year. Sales of $4.6 billion in the third quarter of 2016 were down approximately 3 percent compared to the year-ago period. Organic sales were essentially even with the prior year.
