COPENHAGEN (dpa-AFX) - Danish brewer Carlsberg A/S (CABGY.PK) reported Wednesday that its net revenue for the third quarter declined 4 percent from last year.
The company's net revenue for the third quarter decreased to 17.53 billion Danish kroner from 18.30 billion kroner a year ago.
The decline in revenue was due to the negative currency impact of minus 4 percent and the acquisition impact of negative 1 percent. The latter related to the disposals of Danish Malting Group and Carlsberg Malawi.
However, organic revenue growth in the quarter was 1 percent, while total volumes were flat organically.
Total beverages volumes in the quarter were 40.0 million hectolitres, compared to 40.2 million hectolitres in the year-ago period.
For fiscal 2016, the company now forecasts organic operating profit growth of around 5 percent, compared to its earlier outlook for low-single-digit percentage organic operating profit growth.
