BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - Siemens is reportedly in talks with Alstom and Bombardier on a possible merger of its rail business with either of them.
The German engineering company will pick from the two options within days for further negotiations, according to people familiar with the matter.
Siemens had commenced negotiation with Bombardier about creating two rail joint ventures months ago, but only recently started conducting talks with French rival Alstom.
According to reports, Siemens is considering to inject its rail business into Alstom in exchange for a large stake in the bigger rail company entity.
