WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - First Horizon National (FHN) reported a profit for its third quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line climbed to $74.48 million, or $0.32 per share. This was up from $63.20 million, or $0.27 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.30 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.4% to $322.23 million. This was down from $333.74 million last year.
