GLENDALE, Calif., May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ecogate Corp. (Pink Sheets: ECGT), today announced that it has finalized the sale of its energy- saving systems to Karges Furniture (http://www.karges.com/). This follows a similar sale last year to Efficiency Vermont and Ethan Allen Inc., of computer controlled devices to be used in the plants sawdust-collection system, to reduce energy costs. The Ethan Allen plant was threatened with closure due in part, to the high energy costs of the plant. As a result of the installation of Ecogate's energy-saving systems, the plant was successfully maintained and remains open to this day.
The installed system uses a high efficiency motor, compared to the conventional classic design. With measured and extrapolated yearly savings of $32,000 for one shift, $63,000 for two shifts and $132,833 for three shifts, the patented energy-saving Ecogate system saves up to 80% of electricity consumed. This project was nominated, and won the 29th Annual Energy Efficient Building Award, for "excellence and innovation in energy efficiency."
Ales Litomisky, President of Ecogate stated that, "with the continued emphasis on energy saving devices worldwide, we expect to see a sustained increase in our sales throughout 2004." He further stated that, "with the continuing rise in oil prices and energy costs, Ecogate will aggressively pursue prospective customers in both the US and Europe in the near term".
