Granite Broadcasting Corporation Appoints Jerry Giesler to Corporate Operations Strategy Team and Todd McWilliams to President and General Manager of KSEE-TV Serving Fresno-Visalia, California

NEW YORK, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Granite Broadcasting Corporation announced today that Jerry Giesler has been appointed to Granite Broadcasting's corporate operations strategy team to focus on the implementation of the Company's new shared service agreement with Malara Broadcasting. Granite also announced that it has named Todd McWilliams as President & General Manager of KSEE-TV serving Fresno-Visalia, California. Mr. Giesler was formerly the President & General Manager of KSEE-TV and Mr. McWilliams was formerly the General Sales Manager of KSEE-TV.

Commenting on the announcements, John Deushane, Chief Operating Officer of Granite Broadcasting, said, "Since joining Granite in 1998, Jerry has played a critical role in the success of four of our stations and most recently did an incredible job in leading KSEE-TV. With nearly three decades of experience in the broadcasting industry he brings a vast base of knowledge to our corporate strategy team as we continue to execute on our strategic growth initiatives." Mr. Deushane added, "In a little over a year Todd McWilliams has posted record advertising sales and a dramatic improvement in advertising market share growth at KSEE-TV. KSEE-TV channel 24 is the NBC affiliate serving Fresno-Visalia, California, the nation's 57th largest media market. In 2003, KSEE-TV was ranked 2nd in news and prime-time audience in the Fresno-Visalia market.

Giesler's Long Career In Television Spans Management & News Positions

Since May 2000, Mr. Giesler has served as President & General Manager of KSEE-TV and WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne. Previously he was Senior Vice President & Editor-in-Chief of drkoop.com in Austin since April 1999, President & General Manager of KNTV in San Jose since February 1998, President & General Manager of WHO-TV in Des Moines since January 1993, and Senior Consultant with Frank N. Magid Associates since July 1986. Prior, he was News Director at KPNX-TV in Phoenix since September 1984, and News Director at WEEK-TV in Peoria since January 1976. He is a graduate of Illinois State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

McWilliams Brings Fifteen Years Management Background to KSEE-TV

Since May 2003, Mr. McWilliams had served as General Sales Manager of KSEE-TV. Previously he was General Manager of WEYI-TV in Flint-Saginaw-Bay City since January 2001 and served as Station Manager since July 2000. He was General Sales Manager of WOWT-TV in Omaha since August 1998, General Sales Manager of WEYI-TV in Flint-Saginaw-Bay City, Michigan since June 1996, Local Sales Manager for WHP/WLYH-TV in Harrisburg-Lebanon-Lancaster, Pennsylvania since November 1995 and Local Sales Manager for WHP since January 1994, National Sales Manager for WXOW/WQOW-TV in La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wisconsin since February 1992, Account Executive at WKOW-TV in Madison, Wisconsin since January 1990, WWQM/WHIT-FM in Madison, Wisconsin since June 1989, and at KDUB- TV in Dubuque, Iowa since June 1987. Mr. McWilliams is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Radio & Television Broadcasting Management.
