OXFORD, United Kingdom and FAIRFAX, Va., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- webMethods, Inc. , the industry's first Web services infrastructure company, today announced that ACNielsen, the world's leading marketing information company, has selected webMethods to support the growth of its Global Passport service.
ACNielsen's Global Passport service aims to improve product information in the entire management chain, from inside the manufacturer all the way through to the retailers and into the retailers' internal systems. ACNielsen selected webMethods to enable electronic communication between the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturers and retailers using ACNielsen's Global Passport service. The webMethods integration solution will support ACNielsen in cleansing, enriching and validating product information, in order to bring this information up to the standards required by the various suppliers and retailers in the supply chain.
"The Global Passport is becoming the premier choice to help manufacturers and retailers rationalize and manage product information within their own organizations and with trading partners in the supply chain," said David Timberlake, vice president of Global Services, ACNielsen. "We want our Global Passport clients to have the highest quality, industry standards compliant product information available. We selected webMethods based on its leadership in the Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail industry, proven expertise in handling product information standards and demonstrated ability to effectively handle large numbers of trading partners and a large volume of transactions."
With a seamless information flow, ACNielsen can focus on helping companies with data alignment projects -- helping to establish a single source of product information within an organization in place of the duplicate product files that currently exist. The Global Passport will also continue to align data in the supply chain, helping trading partners to exchange high quality, industry standards compliant product information.
"webMethods enables ACNielsen to seamlessly communicate with Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturers, global or local data pools, as well as retailers," said Kareen Renaudin, general manager and vice president, Industry Solutions, webMethods, Inc. "Ease of deployment is a key advantage of webMethods' integration technology. It enables ACNielsen to rapidly and efficiently manage the information flow with its global and local customers."
