Raytheon Infrared Gains GSA Approval for Thermal-Eye Products

DALLAS, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The General Service Administration's (GSA) recent approval of Thermal-Eye(TM) products from Raytheon Infrared has made it easier for federal customers to purchase a host of powerful thermal imaging products. The approval also provides Raytheon Infrared dealers with an additional tool they can use to simplify the sales process and improve customer service for their federal customers.

"Getting the GSA approval opens a number of doors for us and our dealers," said Raytheon Infrared President Chris Bade. "But, more importantly, it means customers in government now have much easier access to our products."

Raytheon Infrared has gained approval for Thermal-Eye products including the X100XP, Thermal Security Cameras, 250D, 400D, 4000B and 4000M vehicle- mounted cameras. As a result, federal customers now have access to these products without a bidding process. Also, discounted prices on these products are established and specifically negotiated for government customers.

"An additional plus of this approval is that taxpayers benefit," Bade said. "The discounts made possible through GSA offer federal customers the best possible prices on thermal imaging technology, which, in the long run, costs taxpayers less money."

Ultimately, increased federal access to these security products offers improved security capabilities for people and places throughout the United States. Thermal imaging helps to provide security personnel for government agencies, military bases and other government facilities with increased information about perimeter security, potential points of intrusion and intruder behavior. This improved knowledge enables security personnel to offer greater protection and conduct their duties with greater efficiency.

The Thermal-Eye cameras are listed on the GSA-managed Web site, GSA Advantage! (http://www.gsaadvantage.gov/ ), which serves as a catalog for products listed on GSA contracts. Online access to contract ordering information, terms and conditions and up-to-date pricing are available on the site. The Raytheon Infrared products are listed on Schedule 84.

Raytheon Infrared, based in Dallas, designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of thermal imaging products and solutions serving the security, fire and rescue, public safety, law enforcement, transportation, industrial, utilities and Homeland Security markets. Product applications include search and rescue, perimeter surveillance, investigation, industrial process monitoring, preventive maintenance, automotive and truck night vision and much more.
