INDIANAPOLIS, July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Independent test lab for converged communications and call center products, CT Labs, called the SIP- based IP PBX by Interactive Intelligence "easy to install and administer," "feature-rich," and, overall, a "high-quality" product based on a test-drive completed in May.

CT Labs tested the product, called Enterprise Interaction Center(R) (EIC), for ease-of-installation, call-quality, features, interfaces, product documentation, and support.
"Our tests of EIC demonstrated that the product is indeed market-ready," said vice president of sales and marketing for CT Labs, Rick Sachs. "The product performed very well and provided a rich set of SIP-based IP PBX features that worked together in a tightly integrated manner."
CT Labs tested a promotional version of the product, which includes free EIC software for up to 50 stations. This promotional version includes a Microsoft-based EIC system using Intel's Netstructure Host Media Processing software that eliminates voice processing boards for faster and easier installation and maintenance.
In addition to SIP-based IP switching and an optional SIP proxy server, the free software offers built-in productivity-enhancing features, such as a desktop softphone with presence management, hot-desking for mobile users, voice mail, auto attendant, and workgroup routing.
CT Labs' technicians awarded EIC a total of 9.26 out of a possible 10, with a high score of 9.8 in the manual PBX functionality exercise designed to test the product with various phone types for call quality. Following manual exercises using analog phones, a Cisco 7960 SIP phone, Polycom SoundPoint IP 500 and IP 600 SIP phones, and a SIP softphone, technicians concluded that all calls "were completed and handled successfully with high levels of speech quality."
