Following two full days of conference programming, Soon Choo's keynote kicked off day three by reminding attendees that Oracle is committed to helping enterprises in Asia Pacific excel in an increasingly competitive global business environment. As proof of the company's commitment, he highlighted Oracle's 15-year presence in China, its more than 600 employees and two development centers. Soon Choo also noted that Oracle OpenWorld Shanghai marks the second time in less than five years that China has hosted the conference, further emphasizing the strategic importance of the region to Oracle.
Soon Choo also spent some time reiterating the key messages of the week's keynotes, from Oracle President Charles Phillips' presentation outlining how information management is at the heart of what Oracle provides its customers and what customers need in order to run a global real-time business, to Thomas Kurian's overview of Oracle's solutions to help companies become real-time businesses.
"Information has never been more important to businesses," said Soon Choo. "It helps you plan, refine and change to compete effectively. And information is at the core of what we do."
Soon Choo then highlighted several key customers mentioned throughout the conference, including: ChangAn, Hitachi and UTStarcom. All of these customers are using Oracle solutions to decrease costs, improve efficiencies and raise profits.
Oracle OpenWorld Shanghai ended on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at the Shanghai International Conference Center.
