Informatica Incorporates JasperSoft Operational Reporting Technology Into Its Web-Based Platform

SAN FRANCISCO, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- JasperSoft Corporation, the leader in commercial open source reporting solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Informatica , the leading provider of business analytics software, to extend Informatica's PowerAnalyzer with robust reporting and report distribution capabilities. By embedding JasperSoft's Scope Server report engine into its PowerAnalyzer Business Intelligence (BI) platform, Informatica now allows business professionals to access, visualize, analyze and create and distribute highly formatted reports-both inside and outside the enterprise.

"As organizations become increasingly aware of the interdependencies between streamlining operational performance and increasing their bottom lines, they begin to place a higher value on understanding their day-to-day business operations," said Mark Smith, chief executive officer and senior vice president of research for Ventana Research. "JasperSoft's focus on embedded operational reporting, along with its modular architecture, made it the natural choice for Informatica. Now PowerAnalyzer customers can access and visualize business information, thoroughly analyze the data and efficiently distribute the results of this analysis to all interested and trusted parties in a highly secure manner."

"By embedding JasperDecisions, Informatica is providing increased value to its customers, who are now able to view and report on application-specific information-on demand. Self-service reporting is a powerful addition to the PowerAnalyzer platform," said Paul Doscher, president and chief executive officer for JasperSoft Corporation. "We continue to experience strong demand from software companies that are adding JasperDecisions' modular operational reporting capability to quickly and economically enhance their business applications."

Market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) states the current market estimate for the query, reporting and analytics segment to be a $4.3 billion dollar market within the overall business intelligence sector.

After a thorough evaluation of several reporting solutions, Informatica selected JasperDecisions because of its highly modular, easily embeddable architecture, along with its product quality and technological superiority. JasperDecisions' J2EE, standards-based architecture allowed it to be seamlessly and directly embedded into the PowerAnalyzer application.

Additionally, Informatica took advantage of JasperDecisions' modular design and selected only those services that PowerAnalyzer lacked, avoiding integration of redundant features and functionality. Because of this tightly coupled embedding, Informatica now stores JasperDecisions' report definitions in its existing repository, freeing PowerAnalyzer customers from the tedious task of managing multiple libraries.
