DALLAS, June 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Now through August 8, 2005, Blockbuster Inc. will donate $1 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America for every new or renewed BLOCKBUSTER Rewards(R) membership sold in participating corporate BLOCKBUSTER(R) stores nationwide.
The "Reward the Future" promotion is a fundraiser supporting National KidsDay on August 7, 2005. National KidsDay, led by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in partnership with KidsPeace, the National Center for Kids Overcoming Crisis, is a special day set aside each year to celebrate and honor America's children by encouraging adults to spend meaningful time with them. Blockbuster has raised more than $7 million for National KidsDay since 2002 and has been a corporate supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America since 1999.
"The Boys & Girls Clubs of America are a positive force in the communities in which we operate, fueling the development and self esteem of today's youth," said Cynthia Hofmann, Blockbuster Vice President of Customer Programs. "We're proud to continue our support for the organization and important initiatives like National KidsDay."
The BLOCKBUSTER Rewards loyalty program, available at participating stores, enables members to earn free game and movie rentals throughout the year for doing what they love -- watching movies and playing games. For an annual membership fee of $9.95 plus tax (prices may vary by location), Rewards members receive:

or games (limit twice a month)
* One non-new release movie rental free, when they rent one movie or
