BLACKWOOD, N.J., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Airtrax, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: AITX) , a developer of patented Omni-Directional(TM) technology with military and commercial applications, announced today that Underwriters Laboratories (UL), an independent testing and certification corporation, completed their inspection of the Airtrax Manufacturing facility in Blackwood, NJ, and approved it to ship the SIDEWINDER ATX-3000 Omni- Directional(TM) Lift Truck bearing the UL and UL Canada Classified Marks starting September 30, 2005. UL has developed more than 928 Standards for Safety. Their Standards for Safety are essential to helping assure public safety and confidence, reduce costs, improve quality and market products and services. Millions of products and their components are tested to UL's rigorous safety standards with the result that consumers live in a safer environment than they would have otherwise.
The Standards Technical Panels (STPs) are an important part of the process by which UL develops and maintains its Standards for Safety. An STP is a group of individuals, representing a variety of interests, formed to review proposals related to UL Standards for Safety. When an American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/UL Standard for Safety is involved, an STP serves as the consensus body to review and vote on proposals prior to publication.
The development of ANSI/UL Standards for Safety greatly benefits from the expertise of individuals interested in the products affected by ANSI/UL Standards.
UL Standards are recognized nationally and internationally as the benchmarks for product safety.
Peter Amico, president of Airtrax, said, "We believe we have met or exceeded rigorous UL Standards demonstrating our commitment to providing a very cost effective Omni-Directional(TM) lift truck with public safety foremost in our thoughts and our design criteria."
