Hollywood celebrities, rock and roll icons and
professional sports legends will converge at the 2006 International
CES(R) to experience the hottest products and technologies in the
consumer electronics industry. The 2006 International CES, the world's
largest technology tradeshow, returns to Las Vegas, January 5-8.
Verizon will host comedian, Dana Carvey, at CES Unveiled on Tuesday, January 3, from 4-7 p.m. located at Innovations Plus at the Sands, in the Bellini Ballroom. The former "Saturday Night Live" star will appear with Verizon, celebrating the company's FiOS fiber-optic broadband and television services.
For music lovers at the show, several CES exhibitors are planning live entertainment in their booths. Gibson Guitar will host live performances throughout the show with two nights of headlining performances by rock-blues guitarist, George Thorogood, on Friday, January 6 and Saturday, January 7 at 7 p.m. Legendary Elvis guitarist, Scotty Moore, will perform on Saturday, January 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Gibson booth, as part of an Elvis Presley birthday celebration. Gibson will host daily performances with recording artists that include, The Kevin Maney band, Jagged Ann and rising country music artist, Jace Everett.
Legendary music icons, including Butch Vig of Garbage and Miles Copeland, will perform at the WorldSpace booth #8260, in the Central Hall, throughout the duration of the show. Live performances will be followed by exclusive interviews with the artists. All WorldSpace entertainment at CES will broadcast live across WorldSpace's UPop 29 and in the U.S. on XM 29.
Additionally, a number of CES exhibitors will hold invitation-only events featuring major music artists. Monster Cable Products will host the annual Dealer Awards, on Friday, January 6, featuring a live performance by Stevie Wonder. The CES Jazz Club will hold a special invitation-only concert on Thursday, January 5 at the Bellagio, featuring the next-generation in jazz music with performances by rising artists from Concord Music Group, including Erin Boheme, Taylor Eigsti and Christian Scott.
For sports enthusiasts at CES, ESPN will play host to some of the biggest names in the industry. Brian Roberts, the All-Star second baseman for the Baltimore Orioles, will make a special appearance at the ESPN stage in the LVCC, Grand Lobby on Thursday, January 5, and John Abraham, the three-time Pro Bowl defensive end for the New York Jets, will make an appearance at the ESPN stage on Friday, January 6.
NFL superstars Dan Marino, Troy Aikman, Steve Young and Boomer Esiason will take center stage at Samsung's booth #11033, in the Central Hall on Thursday, January 5 from 11:30-4 p.m. and Friday, January 6 at 10 a.m. Photo opportunities will be available as the NFL legends greet the crowd and test the latest Samsung products debuting at the show.

Olympic Gold Medalists Dan Jensen and Bonnie Blair - The Olympic champions will greet CES attendees at the AT&T booth #31578, in the South Hall. Dan Jensen will appear on Thursday, January 5 from 2-4 p.m. and Bonnie Blair will meet guests on Friday, January 6 from 2-4 p.m.
Legendary Sports Photographer, Howard Bingham - Known as one of the most famous sports photographers in the world and Mohammed Ali's longtime photographer, Kodak will host an autograph session with Bingham in booth #31400, in the South Hall 3 on January 5, from 1-3 p.m. Bingham will be signing prints of his most historic shots.
NASCAR Driver Kyle Busch - The champion NASCAR driver will appear at the Delphi media open house on Wednesday, January 4 in booth #5206 in the North Hall.
Will Castro of "Unique Whips" - The host of Speed Channels' new hit show "Unique Whips" will host an autograph session on Thursday, January 5, Friday, January 6 and Saturday, January 7 in the Harman/JBL/Infinity booth #1831, located in the North Hall at the LVCC.
Funkmaster Flex - JL Audio will host hip-hop DJ, Funkmaster Flex, on Saturday, January 7, in their booth, North Hall #621. The legendary DJ will meet with JL Audio dealers and industry executives.
