CMR FUEL CELLS PLC: Key Personnel

Embargoed Release: 07:00hrs Wednesday 18th January 2006

                              CMR Fuel Cells Plc

                           (CMR' or the Company')

                                 Key Personnel

CMR Fuel Cells plc, the AIM listed award winning company seeking to
commercialise fuel cell technology for the portable electronics industry, is
pleased to announce the appointment of two key personnel.

Chief Financial Officer

CMR is pleased to welcome Simon Parsliffe to the company as Chief Financial
Officer.

Simon is a Chartered Accountant with nearly 20 years experience in the
Insurance and IT sectors. Prior to joining CMR, Simon was most recently the
Company Secretary and Group Financial Controller of London Bridge Software
Holdings plc. Simon originally qualified as an accountant with Neville Russell
(now Mazars), from whom he joined Lloyd Thompson Group plc. Over the years,
Simon has also held various positions as a finance consultant, primarily in the
insurance sector.

Simon is an Associate of the Institute of Charted Accountants of England and
Wales and has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.

Head of Fuel Cell Development

CMR is also pleased to welcome Dr. Martin Hogarth to the company as Head of
Fuel Cell Development.

Martin is internationally recognised as one of the world's foremost experts in
Direct Methanol Fuel Cells ('DMFC'), an area in which he has over 13 years of
industry experience. Prior to joining CMR, Martin was with Johnson Matthey Plc
where he held a number of senior scientific positions within their fuel cell
group, leading the development of DMFC catalyst and Membrane Electrode Assembly
products.

As well as bringing his key scientific and product development capabilities to
CMR, Martin also has extensive experience in working with some of the world's
largest OEM's seeking to adopt fuel cell technology to power their products.

Neither Mr Parsliffe or Dr. Hogarth will be appointed as directors of CMR.

John Halfpenny, CEO, commented:

'Following the successful AIM listing of CMR in December of last year, we now
have the opportunity to grow the company to take advantage of the emerging fuel
cell market. Key factors of our development will include technical milestones,
development programmes, commercial partnerships and key personnel. It is with
great pleasure that I welcome Simon and Martin to CMR and am confident that
they will play key roles as our technology is further developed and we mature
towards mass commercialisation.'

It is expected that Dr. Hogarth's industry leading research expertise, product
development experience and customer knowledge will play a central role in the
commercialisation of CMR's revolutionary 'mixed reactant, flow through'
technology.

Michael Priestnall, CTO, continued:

Martin's appointment as head of our fuel cell development team is a strong
endorsement of CMR's technological and commercial potential. It delivers on
CMR's strategy to build a world class team to enable us to deliver our
performance milestones.'

Dr. Hogarth added:

CMR's technology is the most exiting development I have seen in this field and
one that has the potential to revolutionise the portable power market. I am
looking forward to bringing my experience in DMFC to what is already a very
strong fuel cell development team.'

                                    -Ends-
