Reynolds and Reynolds Announces ReynoldSystem User Interface

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- National Automobile Dealers Association Convention and Exposition, February 11, 2006 -- The Reynolds and Reynolds Company today announced an easy-to-use interface for the ReynoldSystem that allows faster access to information, helping dealers improve operations and customer service.

The new interface offers a familiar point-and-click design that will be faster and easier for dealership employees to learn and use. It features market-standard global navigation, menus, folders and links to help users more easily access and navigate features and applications. The interface builds on the style and format of Reynolds' popular Advanced Reporting feature. A navigation wrapper allows for quick access to both the ERA(R) XT dealer management system and other components of the ReynoldSystem such as Contact Management, Desking and Mobile Service Advisor that are today delivered in a graphical interface.

"Here at NADA, you will hear us referring to the "ReynoldSystem" to describe our single-source, integrated approach to address the issues that have the biggest impact on dealership success," said Fin O'Neill, Reynolds' president and CEO. "The ReynoldSystem encompasses ERA XT as well as the applications, services, documents, hardware and other attributes that Reynolds uniquely provides.

"We said last year that we would step up our investment in ERA. With the new user interface, we will simplify usability, helping dealers derive more value from ERA and the ReynoldSystem overall so they can obtain better results across their operations. The interface is just one example of our determination to surround the dealer with everything they need to be successful."

The interface enables users to multitask between various screens and software applications. It will also accommodate both new and veteran users. An employee can select his or her preferred interface -- either the traditional character-based approach or the new point-and-click interface.

Scott Collins, Reynolds' vice president of Marketing, said, "We promised dealers that we would make the ReynoldSystem better than ever. We are delivering on that promise. With extensive dealer input, we've designed a flexible, point and click interface that dealers and their employees will greatly value.

Unlike standalone hardware and software providers, we deliver a system representing best-in-class expertise from experienced people, proven practices uniquely suited to dealers, and comprehensive solutions that add value and profitability to their operations."

Reynolds plans to begin deployment of the ReynoldSystem navigation wrapper in summer 2006. Additional applications will incorporate the new user interface with each new release of ERA. The system will be initially available in the U.S. and English-speaking Canada, with French Canadian versions following those in the U.S. by approximately one quarter. ERA customers using Reynolds Linux systems will receive the interface upgrade as a system enhancement at no additional charge.

In December, Reynolds was selected by GM to provide an Integrated Dealer Management System (IDMS) to Saturn retailers in the U.S. The company is also an endorsed provider of the IDMS solution to GM-branded retailers in North America. The new interface will also be a new feature included in the GM IDMS solution.

Dealers attending NADA can preview the interface in Booth 2943. About Reynolds
