Monroe(R) Offering Up to $90 Incentive to Vehicle Owners Who Beat Summer Rush for Shock, Strut Replacement

MONROE, Mich., March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Monroe branded ride control products, consumers will receive up to $90 in additional automotive repair services if they replace worn shocks or struts by the end of April. Monroe shocks and struts and Monroe premium brake pads are manufactured and marketed by Tenneco Inc. .

Consumers purchasing qualifying Sensa-Trac(R), Monroe Reflex(R), Gas- Magnum(R) or Quick-Strut(TM) units through a participating service provider by April 30 will receive a comeback certificate good for additional automotive services through the same repair location during a 90-day period. Monroe's popular annual comeback certificate offer has been increased to a maximum value of $90 to mark the brand's 90th anniversary.

"This is a powerful incentive for consumers who want to help restore the steering, stopping and stability characteristics of their vehicles by replacing worn ride control components," said Richard Alameddine, vice president of marketing and engineering, North American Aftermarket, Tenneco. "By investing in new ride control in March or April, vehicle owners will earn a certificate good for additional service, such as a brake job, tune-up or alignment, through the same location -- all courtesy of Tenneco and the Monroe brand."

Monroe recommends replacing shocks and struts every 50,000 miles. For many popular-selling vehicles, replacing worn shocks and struts that have been driven for 50,000 miles can improve the vehicle's handling characteristics and comfort. (Actual mileage might vary depending on driver ability, vehicle type, and type of driving and road conditions.)

Tenneco will award $90 comeback certificates to consumers who purchase four Monroe Reflex or Sensa-Trac struts through a participating provider in March or April. Consumers purchasing a combination of two Sensa-Trac or Monroe Reflex shocks and two corresponding struts will earn $50 comeback certificates, as will customers purchasing two Quick-Strut assemblies. For the purchase of four Sensa-Trac, Monroe Reflex or Gas-Magnum shock absorbers during the program period, the consumer will receive a $20 comeback certificate.

Tenneco is a $4.4 billion manufacturing company with headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois, and approximately 19,000 employees worldwide. Tenneco is one of the world's largest producers and marketers of ride control and exhaust systems and products, which are sold under the Monroe(R) and Walker(R) global brand names. Among its products are Sensa-Trac(R) and Monroe(R) Reflex(R) shocks and struts, Rancho(R) shock absorbers, Walker(R) Quiet-Flow(R) mufflers and DynoMax(R) performance exhaust products, and Monroe(R) Clevite(R) vibration control components.
