AES Corporation CEO Paul Hanrahan Elected to Board of Directors of Corn Products International


WESTCHESTER, Ill., March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Corn Products International, Inc. , a leading global provider of agriculturally derived ingredients to diversified industries, announced today that Paul T. Hanrahan, president and chief executive officer of The AES Corporation , has been elected to the Company's board of directors, effective immediately. Hanrahan's election increases the size of the Corn Products International board to 11 members.

Hanrahan, 48, has served as president and chief executive officer, and a director of The AES Corporation of Arlington, Va., one of the world's leading independent power producers, since 2002. He joined the company in 1986 and held positions of increasing responsibility, including executive vice president and chief operating officer and president and chief executive officer of AES China Generating Co., Ltd., of Hong Kong.

A former submarine officer in the US Navy from 1979-84, Hanrahan received a bachelor's degree from the US Naval Academy in 1979 and an MBA from Harvard University in 1986.

Marking its 100th anniversary in 2006, Corn Products International is one of the world's largest corn refiners and a major supplier of high-quality food ingredients and industrial products derived from the wet milling and processing of corn and other starch-based materials.
