Philadelphia Insurance Companies Announces New Educators Protection Plus Product

BALA CYNWYD, Pa., March 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Philadelphia Insurance Companies is pleased to announce the introduction of a new Educators Legal Liability product to its slate of professional liability coverage offerings. The new Educators Protection Plus ("EPP") policy includes broad coverages for Educators Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Injunctive Relief defense costs. Coverage is provided on behalf of the educational entity, the school board/trustees, employees, PTA/PTOs and volunteers.

Eligible risks include K-12 private non-profit schools who are also commercial insurance customers of Philadelphia Insurance Companies. Educators Legal Liability and Employment Practices Liability limits are available up to $10.0 million and Injunctive Relief defense costs are available as a sub- limit. The product is not targeted for public schools or college/university risks.

Tom Herendeen, Vice President of Specialty Lines Underwriting, comments, "Private schools of all sizes are faced with numerous liability risks today. Allegations of failure to educate, wrongful counseling and legal liability from admissions and administrative decisions can be both costly and distracting for a private institution as it strives to meet its educational objectives with limited resources. The EPP product is also a natural complement to our Flexi Plus Five Non-profit Directors & Officers Liability policy, which we currently provide for many of these customers."
