AirPlus International, a leading provider of global
business travel payment solutions, has entered into a strategic
partnership with the Swiss bank UBS. Together with UBS, one of the
world's leading financial institutions, AirPlus will offer companies
in Switzerland a complete payment and cost analysis solution for
corporate travel, enabling companies to thoroughly analyze all their
travel expenses and benefit from a unique cost transparency. The
collaboration with UBS will strengthen the AirPlus' position as a
provider of global business travel payment solutions.
"UBS is an ideal partner to support our customers with the optimization of their business travel management in Switzerland. The partnership is important to our continued growth around the world and will critically move us toward our goal of becoming Europe's no. 1 in business travel payment by 2008," according to Richard Crum, President and CEO, AirPlus International, Inc.
"Through the collaboration with AirPlus, UBS is rounding off its credit card offerings for businesses and is thereby strengthening its leading position as a credit card issuer in Switzerland," according to Felix Holzhey, Head of Sales, UBS Card Center AG.
The partnership is based on two main products, the AirPlus Company Account and UBS VISA Corporate Cards. The AirPlus Company Account is a central billing solution that companies use to conveniently pay for flight tickets from all leading international airlines as well as other travel services. The AirPlus Company Account is complemented by UBS VISA Corporate Cards, which business travelers can use to settle a variety of expenses incurred during a business trip.
Within the framework of the collaboration, UBS customers will also gain access to a powerful management information system: The AirPlus Information Manager enables complete analysis of all travel services. With the information that is gained, companies will recognize cost-cutting opportunities and have the optimal basis for negotiations with airlines, hotels, automobile rental companies and other service providers.
