DALLAS, April 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aviall, Inc. announced that its Aviall Services unit has met the standard and requirements of the AS 9100 Rev. B quality management system. This achievement demonstrates Aviall Services' continued commitment to excellence and ongoing development in quality management.
Aviall was certified to the ISO 9001-2000 standard in March 2005. The ISO 9001-2000 standard is an internationally recognized quality management system standard developed by the International Organization of Standardization (ISO). The AS 9100 Standard is a specific aviation-related standard that adds approximately eighty additional requirements and eighteen amplifications to the ISO 9001-2000 Standard. The new AS 9100 designation allows Aviall to act as a quality control checkpoint in the aviation parts aftermarket such as with the recently announced Revenue Sharing Program (RSP) agreement with GE Aircraft Engines.
"These certifications clearly demonstrate our customers can confidently rely on the Company's commitment to quality. Once again, independent auditors have confirmed it," stated Dan Komnenovich, President and Chief Operating Officer of Aviall Services, Inc.
