Nanotech 2006 announced it has expanded its Nano
Industrial Impact Workshops to nine special symposia. NSTI Nanotech
will bring together the world's leading nanotechnology experts in a
one-day intensive program to educate participants in the current state
of the art in a range of nanotechnologies and impacted industries. The
symposium will be held May 7 in Boston, Mass.
"We've seen a tremendous growth in Nano Industrial Impact Workshops this year," said Matthew Laudon, Executive Director of the Nano Science & Technology Institute. "These introductory -- to intermediate -- level courses are great for managers, practicing engineers, industrial scientists, and executives seeking strategic planning insight."
"This year's program not only looks at some of the hottest topics in nanotechnology, but some of the industrial areas that may be heavily impacted."
Special symposia this year include:
Nano and Molecular Electronics with Douglas Resnick, Molecular Imprints, and Mark Reed, Yale University
Carbon Nano Tubes: Fundamentals and Applications featuring Meyya Meyyappan, NASA, and Wolfgang S. Bacsa, Universite Paul Sabatier
Nanoparticulates: Synthesis and Application with Sotiris E. Pratsinis, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich
Soft Nanotechnology and Self-Assembly: Industrial Applications with Fiona Case, Case Scientific
Polymer Nanotechnology: Synthesis and Novel Applications featuring Donald C. Sundberg and Yvon Durant, University of New Hampshire
Nanotechnology for Medical Diagnostics and Treatment with Srinivas Iyer, Bioscience Division, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Mansoor Amiji, School of Pharmacy, Northeastern University, Boston
Biomaterials and Nanotechnology for Tissue Engineering with Thomas J. Webster, Purdue University
Advanced Nanoscale Simulation Tools: Advanced Materials Design and Nanoelectronic Devices with Wolfgang Windl, Ohio State University
Technology Commercialization featuring Ashley J. Stevens and Michael Pratt, Boston University
