Additionally, Midwest Miles placed a very close second for the most coveted award of the evening -- Program of the Year -- with a score of 8.963 to Southwest Airlines' score of 8.984.
In addition to its first- and second-place showings, Midwest Miles earned third place for Best Member Communications, and fourth place in three other categories: Best Member Web Site, Best Elite Program and Best Award Redemption.
The Freddie Awards were introduced in 1988 by Randy Petersen, publisher of InsideFlyer magazine. The Freddies allow consumers to rank airline and hotel programs from their point of view. The awards are considered to be the most prestigious consumer-generated awards in the industry.
