Satyam Appoints Dr. Robert Baginski as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications

HYDERABAD, India, May 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Satyam Computer Services , a leading global consulting and IT services provider, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Dr. Robert "Bob" Baginski as senior vice president of global marketing and communications. Dr. Baginski will lead Satyam's marketing, communications, and branding initiatives worldwide.

Prior to joining Satyam, Baginski served as global director of integrated marketing for Accenture's business consulting division, where he led marketing and communications for all of the company's business consulting practices. Before that, he held several other marketing, communications, and business development leadership posts, including partner and director of marketing for CSC's Consulting Group.

According to Mr. B. Ramalinga Raju, Satyam founder and chairman, "We're delighted to have Bob join at such a pivotal time for Satyam and our market. He's built a number of industry-leading marketing and communications programs at companies such as Accenture, CSC, and others. Bob's 25 years of major league industry experience, marketing creativity, and distinctive leadership skills will be instrumental in continuing our rapid growth and reputation for superior client business results."

At Accenture, under Baginski's leadership, the consulting business -- and specific horizontals such as supply chain, human performance, customer relationship management, and enterprise solutions -- routinely ranked number one in market reputation. He also led the company's innovative thought leadership marketing and credentials programs, two significant company assets. While at CSC, Baginski helped drive revenue growth above industry norms for years; was a charter member of the CSC Marketing Board; helped develop the company's business development framework; and managed the company's flagship marketing program, CSC Exchange.

Commenting on his recent Satyam appointment, Baginski observed, "I've been watching Satyam as a competitor for years. I've always been struck by several factors: the company's visionary leadership and entrepreneurialism; its deep vertical and horizontal strengths, along with the global footprint; the commitment to customer intimacy and real business value; and of course Satyam's unparalleled corporate social responsibility initiatives."

"Satyam is a unique company and I'm delighted to join during a period of rapid growth and market evolution. We have the scale, capabilities, and client appreciation. My job, as we continue to innovate and serve our clients well, is to build a world-class team that aligns our marketing and communications strategy with our corporate vision, and our vertical, horizontal, and geographic businesses."

Baginski serves on the Board of Advisers of the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA). Earlier in his career, he held marketing and communications management positions at Cleveland Consulting Associates, Ernst & Whinney, a global manufacturer, and a regional law firm. Before that he served as an instructor at universities and a regional school district. He holds a B.A. in psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in English from Shippensburg University, and a Ph.D. in English from Ohio University.
