Hofstra University Gives Vocus Public Relations Software an A+, Extends Subscription Agreement

LANHAM, Md., May 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Vocus, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand software for corporate communications and public relations, announced today that Hofstra University has extended its software subscription with Vocus to help manage and automate its public relations efforts. Located in Hempstead, NY, Hofstra University is a dynamic, private University offering more than 130 undergraduate and 140 graduate programs in Liberal Arts and Sciences, Business, Communication, Education and Allied Human Services and Honors studies, as well as a School of Law.

According to Stacey Franzke, Assistant Director of Public Relations for Hofstra University, Vocus PR software has enabled her team to effortlessly build targeted media lists, distribute press releases and electronically monitor news coverage all within one integrated software suite -- eliminating the need for manual, disparate tools and systems. Hofstra's PR team also generates dozens of useful charts and graphs that clearly demonstrate the positive media coverage they produce for key contacts, such as alumni, trustees, and University administrators.

"Vocus public relations software makes us much more productive and provides our team with an enormous time-savings," said Franzke. "Using Vocus, we can manage all our PR efforts in one comprehensive software suite and easily create charts and graphs that demonstrate our results to important stakeholders. Generating reports used to take us weeks -- now all it takes is a click of a mouse."
