Mercury Announces Expert Webinar Series on How to Optimize Business Outcomes from IT with IT Governance

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today, Mercury Interactive Corporation , the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO) software, announced a two-part webinar series on how to optimize the business outcomes from IT with IT governance. The webinars will feature Sealed Air Corporation and Constellation Energy who will demonstrate how an automated approach to IT governance is helping these companies improve the business outcomes from IT.

The first Mercury webinar, titled, "How to Capture, Prioritize and Manage Demands Placed on IT by the Business," will feature Susan Ligon, PMO portfolio manager for Sealed Air Corporation. It will be presented on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Ligon will discuss how Sealed Air has been able to use Mercury IT Governance Center(TM) to gain visibility into the demands placed on IT, evaluate which projects provide the most value to the business and help eliminate the IT projects that will not deliver positive business outcomes. Sealed Air's IT department is currently using Mercury IT Governance Center for a major SAP(R) solutions roll-out and to provide the audit trail required to meet the goals of its regulatory compliance initiatives. The success of the IT initiatives has led Sealed Air to roll out Mercury IT Governance Center to its research, development and engineering, sales and marketing, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and manufacturing departments to help them manage their business critical projects.

The second Mercury webinar, titled, "Prioritize, Manage and Measure the Outcomes of IT Projects," will feature Jeff Johnson, manager of corporate applications for Constellation Energy. It will be presented on June 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Johnson will discuss how Constellation Energy standardized on Mercury IT Governance Center to automate critical change management processes and to gain the visibility it needs to prioritize, manage and measure the business outcomes of IT projects. Several business units within Constellation Energy use Mercury IT Governance Center to assess and prioritize their IT projects. The IT organization uses Mercury IT Governance Center as the platform for managing these initiatives from demand through production and to manage IT resources.
