Allwest manufactures and services compressor-related parts and components for the natural gas and oil production industries in Western Canada. Products manufactured include compressor pistons and rods, piston rings and rider bands, and compressor valves. In addition, Allwest offers reconditioning services for reciprocating compressor components.

"Allwest is an excellent complement to our France Compressor Products business unit," said Ernie Schaub, president and chief executive officer. "The acquisition gives us access to an active market, strengthens an important product line and will provide attractive returns to our company. Improving our businesses by acquiring complementary product lines and by entering new markets is a key ingredient in EnPro's continued growth."

"Joining our business with France Compressor Products sets us on a course to be a solid competitor for years to come," said Gerard Nugter, president of Allwest. "We'll have the benefit of a larger, more established sales and marketing effort, which will allow Allwest to accelerate growth as oil and gas markets expand and demand for our products increases."

The operations of Allwest and its 36 employees will be managed as part of France Compressor Products. Allwest will continue to manufacture and market its products from its current facilities in Medicine Hat and Lac La Biche, Alberta, Canada. France Compressor, headquartered in Stafford, Texas, has sales and service centers in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, as well as Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
