MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today, Mercury Interactive Corporation , the global leader in business technology optimization (BTO) software, announced that it has been declared the sole Leader in the functional testing market in an evaluation of functional testing solutions by Forrester Research. These findings are reported in the new Forrester market studies, "The Forrester Wave: Functional Testing Solutions, Q2 2006"(i) and "Mercury Continues to Dominate in Functional Testing."(ii) According to the research, Forrester evaluated Mercury's current offering, strategy, and market presence for functional testing solutions against 87 criteria. The report titled "Mercury Continues to Dominate in Functional Testing" states that Mercury's vision for its functional testing solution is innovative and positions the vendor for continued market domination. The report also states that Mercury's focus is on increasing the ease of use and accessibility of its tools, providing rapid support for disruptive technologies, productizing its quality methodologies to improve the efficiency of customers' testing efforts, and improving support for globally distributed testing efforts. According to the report, Mercury's solution is especially appropriate for centralized testing organizations and for companies that also use Mercury products for performance testing, performance monitoring, service- oriented architecture (SOA) management, or project portfolio management.
In addition, the report states that all of the products in its functional testing solution are notable for their high degree of usability, and Mercury scored higher on environment support than any other evaluated vendor.
