EAGAN, Minn., June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines today announced a May consolidated (mainline and regional) load factor of 85.9 percent, 3.5 points above May 2005. Northwest reported a mainline load factor of 86.5 percent, 2.9 points above May 2005.

In May 2006, Northwest and Northwest Airlink regional carriers flew 6.71 billion consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 7.82 billion consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), a traffic decrease of 5.6 percent and a capacity decrease of 9.4 percent versus May 2005.
Northwest flew 6.21 billion mainline revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 7.18 billion mainline available seat miles (ASMs) in May 2006, a traffic decrease of 5.6 percent and a capacity decrease of 8.7 percent versus May 2005.
