American Airlines Has Total Home Court Advantage in All American Series


FORT WORTH, Texas, June 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- While the Dallas Mavericks and Miami HEAT battle for the title, American Airlines finds itself with the predicament of which team to back, since it is the official airline for both professional basketball teams. To solve this dilemma, American has decided to celebrate with both teams by launching the "All American Series" campaign, a string of promotions to help Mavericks and HEAT fans celebrate.

"Since American holds the naming rights for the American Airlines Center and the AmericanAirlines Arena, we will have the biggest home court advantage ever," said Roger Frizzell, American's Vice President of Corporate Communications & Advertising. "It is obviously extremely difficult for us to pick sides. So, for the duration of the upcoming series, we will stand with all of those participating, rewarding the ultimate fans, surprising some lucky ones with great game-day promotions and celebrating the excitement of both teams with our employees."

To tip-off the celebration, American, a founding member of the global oneworld alliance, has put out the call for "American's Ultimate Fans." The four craziest, zaniest and most fanatical supporters will be rewarded with the ultimate road trip. The contest will get started at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Thursday, June 8, where judges will select four fanatical Miami HEAT boosters to receive round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and tickets to the game in Dallas at the American Airlines Center on June 11.

The contest continues for Dallas Mavericks fans at the American Airlines Center on Sunday, June 11, where judges will select four more "American's Ultimate Fans" and award those winners with round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation and tickets to the June 13 game at Miami's AmericanAirlines Arena.

American Airlines and American Eagle employees will also participate in the "All American Series." Employees at Dallas/Fort Worth International, Dallas Love Field and Miami International and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International airports will have the opportunity to participate in a "Spirit Day." Employees at the airports and American's Headquarters will be able to wear their favorite team's apparel on game day.

In addition, employees will have the opportunity to participate in a fundraiser to benefit Children's Medical Center Dallas, Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth and Miami Children's Hospital.

"This is a great opportunity not only for the fans of both teams to celebrate and cheer their team to victory but also for American to celebrate along with the fans," said Frizzell. "While we're torn between the teams, we are very committed to both the Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami communities and wanted to provide both of them with something very special during the playoff series. We look forward to giving fans even more reason to show their team support in anticipation of winning a number of significant prizes throughout the upcoming games."

Additional game-day promotions will include AA.com apparel, First Class ticket giveaways for travel to any American destination and many great prizes at every game. American is also planning additional surprise promotions to be unveiled during the series including a mystery American Airlines Road Warrior who will be giving away incredible prizes.
