The centerpiece of the year long celebration is a coast-to-coast convoy traveling from San Francisco on June 16 and arriving in Washington D.C. on June 29th, the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Interstate Highway Act. The convoy will be traveling along the I-80 corridor through 13 states for nearly 3,000 miles.

ISS' strategic partner, Econolite Control Products, Inc., also a sponsor, is participating directly in the convoy with their Cam Van, featuring the Autoscope(R) video detection system along with other technologies in AASHTO's Innovative Mobility Showcase, a moving display of the latest offerings in transportation management technology. At four of the convoy's many stops along the route, demonstrations will be given. For detailed information regarding the 50th Anniversary celebration and convoy schedule, visit http://www.interstate50th.org/ .

The Autoscope video detection system provides important information such as traffic data and automatic incident detection for transportation systems worldwide. This sponsorship demonstrates ISS' commitment to improving traffic management technology and pays homage to the origination of the United States' interstate highway system. Autoscope cameras are deployed on highways across the United States and worldwide. http://autoscope.com/

Jim Murdakes, Chairman and CEO said, "We're proud to be a supporter of the Interstate Highway's 50th Anniversary. We're excited to be on board as a sponsor of the convoy and share our expertise and knowledge in video detection technology, through the presence of our Autoscope camera. Also, the sponsorship serves as a well-deserved acknowledgment to the pioneers of the interstate highway system and especially to the original cross country convoy in 1919 led by then Lieutenant Colonel, Dwight D. Eisenhower."

Econolite, a strategic partner of ISS since 1991, is a leading manufacturer of advanced traffic management equipment and systems, including advanced traffic controllers, traffic management systems, arterial system masters, vehicle and pedestrian signals, and traffic control cabinets.
