Continental Airlines' Presidents Club Wins Lounge of the Year Award

HOUSTON, June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines today announced that for the second consecutive year the Presidents Club at Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport Terminal E has been named the Priority Pass Lounge of the Year.

The award-winning Terminal E Presidents Club is the largest private airport lounge in the Continental system; with three levels, the club measures 25,000 square feet. The Presidents Club has expansive views of airport operations from its floor-to-ceiling windows, 60 private carrels for business, and showers for customers arriving from international destinations.

Each year, Priority Pass asks its members to vote for the Lounge of the Year, rating each airport lounge for its quality of facilities, welcoming staff and general ambience, among other factors. Continental's Presidents Club competed with over 500 airport lounges worldwide in the Priority Pass program. This award is especially meaningful because Priority Pass members are discerning, frequent international travelers.

"It is an honor to receive this award from Priority Pass. We're very proud of our Presidents Club product and our more than 200 dedicated Presidents Club representatives that provide our best customers with the service they come to expect from us," said Mark Bergsrud, Continental's vice president of Marketing Programs and Distribution.

With a choice of 27 private airport clubroom locations, Continental's Presidents Club offers the busy traveler personalized service and a relaxing oasis. The comfort and privacy of these clubrooms allow travelers to take care of business, conduct a meeting, make phone calls or just relax between flights in pleasant surroundings.

Presidents Club lounges offer a wide range of amenities, many of which are complimentary, such as high-speed wireless Internet access, local phone calls, use of photocopy machines, in addition to complimentary beverages, light snacks and bar service.

The Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Awards were launched in 2005 to recognize outstanding service and facilities in this increasingly important area of business travel.

Continental Airlines, together with Continental Express and Continental Connection, has more than 3,200 daily departures throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, serving 152 domestic and 138 international destinations. More than 400 additional points are served via SkyTeam alliance airlines. With more than 42,000 employees, Continental has hubs serving New York, Houston, Cleveland and Guam, and together with Continental Express, carries approximately 61 million passengers per year. Continental consistently earns awards and critical acclaim for both its operation and its corporate culture.

For the third consecutive year, FORTUNE magazine named Continental the No. 1 Most Admired Global Airline on its 2006 list of Most Admired Global Companies. Continental was also named the No. 1 airline on the publication's 2006 America's Most Admired airline industry list. Additionally, Continental again won major awards at the OAG Airline of the Year Awards including "Best Airline Based in North America" for the third year in a row, and "Best Executive/Business Class" for the fourth consecutive year.
