Fox Searchlight Pictures President of Production Claudia
Lewis announced today that Jeremy Steckler and Matthew Greenfield have
both been tapped Senior Vice President of Production, reporting to
Lewis. Steckler joins the specialty film studio after three and a half
years at di Bonaventura Pictures; Greenfield was a producer who
previously had two films distributed at Fox Searchlight.
Said Claudia Lewis,"Matthew's stellar reputation in the independent film world, and his experience producing terrifically unique auteur films, make for a perfect fit with Searchlight. Jeremy's development and production skills, especially in the genre arena, bring a fresh new point of view to the company. Both excel at recognizing innovative filmmakers who tell original stories, and we are proud to welcome both to Searchlight."
Added Steckler,"Working at Fox Searchlight is such an exciting opportunity for me. I am very fortunate to be a part of a smart, dynamic group of people who have a distinct eye for quality films."
"Searchlight has always been the company of choice for me as a producer," said Greenfield. "Having had the opportunity to work with them on two of my films, STAR MAPS and THE GOOD GIRL, I am thrilled to join the preeminent team in the business."
In 2002, Steckler was the first hire at di Bonaventura Pictures. There, he was involved with the building of the entire film slate. He was an executive producer on DOOM starring The Rock and Karl Urban and an associate producer on DERAILED starring Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen. Steckler is also a producer on Mikael Hafstrom's upcoming film 1408.
Steckler received his B.A. from Duke University in 1996 and was also a Lord Rothmere Scholar at Oxford University in 1996.

All four of his films premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where they were picked up for distribution, two of them (STAR MAPS & THE GOOD GIRL) by Fox Searchlight.
In 2002 Greenfield was named one of "10 Producers to Watch" by Variety. Two years later, in 2004, he was named Associate Director of the Feature Film Program at the Sundance Institute.
