WATSONVILLE, Calif., June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Granite Construction Incorporated is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian R. Dowd, 42, to the position of Vice President and Director of Human Resources, effective May 22, 2006. Dowd reports to William G. Dorey, Granite President and Chief Executive Officer.
In this role, Dowd will oversee all aspects of the HR function, including such areas as Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Recruiting, Benefits and Compensation. Dowd joined Granite Construction in 1986 after graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Civil Engineering. In his 20-year career with Granite, Mr. Dowd has held positions as Project Engineer, Estimator, Project Manager, Area Manager and Director of Employee Development. In September of 2005, Dowd was named Director of Human Resources.
