DEERFIELD, Ill., July 3 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to requests from the American Red Cross Friday evening, Walgreens donated and delivered nearly $25,000 in merchandise for flood relief efforts in Pennsylvania.
A Walgreens truck containing nearly 7,000 bottles of Gatorade, more than 3,400 bottles of water and nearly 10,000 packets of snacks was delivered to the Wilkes Barre, Penn., American Red Cross Sunday afternoon.
"This donation will meet some of the immediate needs of flood victims and American Red Cross relief workers in Pennsylvania," said John Gremer, Walgreens director of community affairs. "We're proud that Walgreens can be counted on to respond fast to emergency requests like this one."
