Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting

The Company's management contract was transferred from Gartmore Investment
Limited ("Gartmore") to Premier Fund Managers Limited ("Premier") on 12 May
2006. The transfer was announced to the London Stock Exchange on 12 May 2006. A
condition of the termination agreement that the Company entered into with
Gartmore was that the Directors would seek to change the name of the Company to
remove any reference to Gartmore and would recommend to shareholders that such
a change should be made. Such actions were to be taken within 90 days of the
termination. Accordingly the Board is now recommending that the Company change
its name to Premier Absolute Growth & Income Trust PLC.

The Board have selected the proposed new name as they consider that it reflects
the investment objectives that the Company is pursuing and will create an
awareness of the fact that the Company's investments are now managed by
Premier.

At the same time, the name of the Subsidiary will be changed to PAGIT
Securities plc although this is not a matter on which Shareholders are required
to vote.

A Circular relating to the proposal to change the Company's name will be posted
to Shareholders today. The EGM will be held at 9.30am on Wednesday 26 July 2006
at One, St Paul's churchyard, London EC4M 8SH.

A copy of the Circular has been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and will
shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document
Viewing Facility, which is situated at:
