PHILADELPHIA, July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- With four days of 24-hours-a-day focus on customers' emergency needs, PECO's call center will expand hours tonight and this weekend to handle general business needs - the first time since Tuesday.
A separate dedicated team of customer service representatives will be available until 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Ordinarily, the call center is open until 6 p.m. on Fridays and 1 p.m. on Saturdays for non-emergency business. PECO's call center can be reached at 1- 800-494-4000.
Emergency electric and gas customer calls are taken at 1-800-841-4141. Customers are reminded to use this number only for true emergencies.
Since the devastating storm wracked the PECO region on Tuesday night, PECO's call center has handled 405,310 customer calls. Call center representatives will remain on 24 hours staffing to assist customers with emergency needs. The extension of the business hours is designed to help customers who may not have been able to contact the company regarding routine business during this extremely busy period. Routine business includes billing questions, customer account balance information, new service applications, and change of address.
