On June 15, 2006, Baker announced it had been awarded a five-year, up to $750 million, program management and individual housing inspection services contract by FEMA. On June 30, 2006, Baker announced it had been previously informed by FEMA that Alltech, Inc., had filed a bid protest with GAO and that FEMA had invoked a "stop work order" under the terms of the contract for a period of up to 100 days or until GAO issues its decision.
FEMA's corrective actions include re-evaluating Baker's proposal and those of the other two offerors in the competitive range. Baker expects the stop work order under the terms of the contract to remain in effect until the re- evaluation process is complete. FEMA has not established a schedule for completion of the re-evaluation.
