Mesa Air Group Carries More Passengers in Joplin, Missouri and Announces a Labor Day Fare Sale for New Service to Dallas/Ft Worth


PHOENIX, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa Air Group today announced its preliminary traffic results for its first month of operation in Joplin, Missouri. The flights are operated by Mesa's wholly owned subsidiary Air Midwest, and operate as US Airways Express. US Airways Express carried 1,979 passengers between Joplin and Kansas City. This represents an increase of 15% over August 2005 passengers carried by the previous carrier. The current US Airways Express service operates in conjunction with the Department of Transportation's Essential Air Service program, with 3 departures to Kansas City.

Mesa is also beginning new service on October 5, 2006 between Joplin and Dallas/Ft Worth International Airport. At that point, Mesa will operate 5 flights each weekday from Joplin, with 2 departures to Dallas and 3 departures to Kansas City. The Dallas flights will be operated by Air Midwest and will operate as Mesa Airlines.

Additionally, Mesa announced a Labor Day fare sale for service to Dallas/Ft Worth for the period of October 5 through November 15, 2006. During this time, roundtrip seats will be available for only $148*. These tickets must be purchased by September 10, 2006. Additional Restrictions Apply.

Mesa currently operates 188 aircraft with over 1,100 daily system departures to 173 cities, 46 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, and Mexico. Mesa operates as US Airways Express, Delta Connection, and United Express under contractual agreement with US Airways, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines, respectively, and independently as Mesa Airlines and go!. On June 9, 2006 Mesa launched inter-island Hawaiian service as go! (http://www.iflygo.com/). This new operation links Honolulu to the neighbor island airports of Hilo, Kahului, Kona, and Lihue.
