Language Weaver, a leading software company developing
enterprise software for the automated translation of human languages,
announced it has gained rola Security Solutions, a German security
company, as an integrator and value-added reseller for its automated
translation system.
rola is integrating Language Weaver translation technology into its investigative and security application, rsCASE(TM), to enable automated translation of foreign text in cross-border crime operations and as a defense measure against terrorist threats from abroad. rola has signed an agreement that allows them to use all existing Language Weaver translation modules and future ones as developed. This functionality will aid investigating officers to quickly translate foreign language material, from sources such as emails or telephone monitoring data, into English or German, assess its relevance, and then escalate suspicious data to a translator analyst for further review.
"While Language Weaver has had considerable experience supporting U.S. security and defense agencies, this is the first time we have worked with a German company in law enforcement," said Kirti Vashee, vice president of sales and marketing for Language Weaver. "We anticipate that this collaboration with rola and proof of our software's capabilities will expand our market reach in the German market and in Europe in general, when companies become aware of the time and money savings inherent in using our automated translation. It really enables them to use their own personnel resources for higher level activities."
rola has been developing IT solutions for more than 20 years for security authorities including the police, security services, border police, customs investigators and military organizations in Germany and the rest of Europe. The rsCASE software supports investigation and analysis in major cases of organized crime, white-collar crime, and capital offenses in addition to terrorism investigations.
In collaboration with rola, Language Weaver will showcase its software at the 8th Oberhausen Security Conference to be held on Sept. 27, 2006 at the Luise-Albertz Hall in Oberhausen, Germany; the conference is focused on cross-border case investigation. For more information, interested parties can contact Language Weaver at 310-437-7300.
