MILPITAS, Calif., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sipex Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: SIPX.PK) today announced the SP6138, a 2.5MHz synchronous DC/DC controller designed to power ADSL2+ and full ADSL2 "SRA" (Seamless Rate Adaptation) modems. By operating above the maximum 2.2MHz ADSL2+ frequency, the SP6138 avoids data interference without the need for additional filtering components. Sipex' designers developed industry leading technology to generate minimum on-times of less than 30ns allowing for direct conversion at 2.5MHz from 15V to modem DSP core and I/O voltages. Single supply rail operation from 4.5V to 5.5V or 5V to 24V simplifies design and eliminates the need for additional intermediate rails.
The SP6138 controller 2.5MHz operating frequency combined with loss-less inductor DCR current sensing maximizes response to load transients, minimizes solution size, and reduces overall Bill of Material costs. In addition to ADSL2+, applications such as Automotive GPS Navigation, Satellite Set Top Boxes, and aftermarket Automotive Electronics may find the high operating frequency a good way to avoid AM radio interference while powering the processors used in all of these systems.
