TULSA, Okla., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thrifty Car Sales, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. , is on a growth curve, recently adding three new dealers and four locations to its national network of franchised used car dealerships.
New dealerships are opening in markets that include Springdale, Ark.; Cottonwood, Ariz.; Carmel, Ind.; and Layton, Utah.
Larry Green, who has been in the automotive business for over 29 years, will open a new Thrifty Car Sales dealership in Cottonwood, Ariz., at 737 South Main St. This is in addition to his seven dealerships selling Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Pontiac, Buick, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Nissan and Hyundai vehicles in Cottonwood, Arizona, Blythe, California and Twin Falls, Idaho. This is his first Thrifty Car Sales dealership.
Opening Oct. 4 in Carmel, Ind., at 582 S. Rangeline Road is a location owned by Brad and Dolores Meyer, Robert Erickson and John Harbison, Jr. The partners have been franchisees of Thrifty Car Rental in Indianapolis for six years. Phil Spink, a former Thrifty Car Rental franchisee in Ontario, Calif., will be managing the new Thrifty Car Sales dealership.
Spencer Young, a 27-year automotive industry veteran, recently opened his first Thrifty Car Sales dealership at 645 N. Main Street in Layton, Utah. He is also the owner of Young Chevrolet and Young Pontiac/Cadillac/GMC in Layton, along with a Kia dealership in Kaysville, Utah and Bonanza Motors in Burley, Idaho.
Additionally, Thrifty Car Sales dealer Don DeForge has opened a new location in Springdale, Ark., at 2105 S. Thompson St. DeForge opened his first Thrifty Car Sales location in Victorville, Calif., in January 2002.
Don Chalmers, owner of a Thrifty Car Sales dealership in Rio Rancho, NM, has opened a second location at 5200 Alameda Blvd. NE in Albuquerque. Chalmers has owned and operated various franchised auto dealerships since 1977, including South Point Chevrolet and Chalmers Chevrolet in the Tulsa, Okla., area.
