DALLAS, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- In an ongoing effort to assist its enrollees in the State of Texas Access Reform (STAR) and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), this month UniCare Health Plans of Texas (UniCare) opened its Community Resource Center in downtown Dallas. UniCare is one of three managed care plans awarded a contract earlier this year from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to provide health care benefits for STAR and CHIP enrollees in the Dallas service area.
Staffed by local personnel, UniCare's Community Resource Center (CRC) will offer a community presence for the residents of Dallas and will offer outreach services and health education. Through the local CRC, enrollees and their families will have access to outreach services, health education referrals, translation, and other specialized services. In addition, CRC staff is fluent in both English and Spanish.

The 3,400-square-foot facility is located in the Landmark Center in the West End District, and is near the West End DART station.
