Acquisition of Defence Systems Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo
Group 4 Securicor, the international security solutions group, announces the
acquisition of the Congolese company, Defence Systems Africa S.P.R.L. (DSA)
Founded in 1984, DSA has over 2,600 employees, making it the DRC's largest
provider of manned and electronic security, response services and
cash-in-transit.
The transaction, which closed on 22 November 2006, moves G4S from second to
market leader in the DRC. DSA's existing business in DRC will be merged into
G4S during 2007.
DSA has gross assets of £1.3 million.
