ESCONDIDO, Calif., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Electra-City Motors will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, December 2, 2006. The new electric car dealership, located at 738 W. Washington Avenue is close to the junction of I-15 and CA-78 in Escondido. Grand opening festivities, including complimentary food and drinks, will begin at 10 AM and continue until 3 PM on December 2nd.

The cars are being manufactured by ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAAP) . ZAP is currently the only company producing street legal electric vehicles that go up to 40 miles per hour with a range of up to 40 miles.
Electra-City Motors is the first and only licensed ZAP dealer in the San Diego area to sell Xebra electric vehicles. "The response you get driving the Xebra is fantastic," says Joseph.
