NETGEAR(R) Launches Competition for 'Blogger-in-Residence' at 2007 Consumer Electronics Show


SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NETGEAR, Inc. , a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, today announced the launch of a competition to determine the "NETGEAR 2007 CES Blogger-in-Residence." The winning contestant will be invited to produce a blog from NETGEAR's booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center, documenting the events of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2007. The winner will also receive round-trip airfare to Las Vegas, Nevada, paid accommodation for the duration of the show (January 7-12), a $2,000 cash purse, an expense allowance and other miscellaneous prizes.

Open now, the "NETGEAR 2007 CES Blogger-in-Residence" Contest closes at 11:59 pm PST on Friday, December 15. The contest winner will be chosen on Wednesday, December 20, and the blog will be hosted on NETGEAR's community website at: http://www.netgear.com/Community.aspx .

"The 'NETGEAR 2007 CES Blogger-in-Residence' Contest is a great opportunity for up-and-coming bloggers to gain exposure and experience," stated Doug Hagan, director of Americas marketing for NETGEAR. "CES is the world's largest consumer electronics tradeshow and blogging has increasingly become an effective way to break and shape news. There will be so much going on in the NETGEAR booth and at the show in general, it will be fantastic to have a blogger present to document these innovations in technology as they are announced."

In order to be eligible for the "NETGEAR 2007 CES Blogger-in-Residence" Contest, participants must be 21 years of age or older, a legal resident of the continental United States, and have actively maintained an online blog for at least six months prior to submitting an entry. The winner of the competition will produce up to three daily postings about what is happening at the tradeshow in general and about the innovations at the NETGEAR booth.
