BATON ROUGE, La., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The board of directors of specialty chemical maker Albemarle Corporation has approved the following organizational changes involving members of the company's senior leadership team, effective January 1, 2007:

John Nicols was named vice president-catalysts. Nicols previously served as vice president-fine chemicals. Nicols' business expertise and energy will provide a platform for him to profitably grow Albemarle's catalysts segment.
Ron Gardner was named vice president-fine chemicals. Gardner previously served as division vice president-performance chemicals. Albemarle will capitalize on Gardner's vision and experience in bromine and its derivatives to lead its fine chemicals segment.
Tony Parnell was named vice president-global sales, service and operations planning. Parnell previously served as vice president-Americas sales. Parnell's leadership in sales, strategic account management and customer service will now be dedicated to a global sales effort focused on executing strategic business plans and key negotiations.
