ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. , is pleased to present its second of three Satellite-based Aviation Navigation Tracking Apparatus (S.A.N.T.A) reports. The following information regarding Santa Claus' international one-night flight is based on data invented at AirTran Airways' System Operations Control (SOC) center in Orlando:
* After following Santa's travels through the cities of eastern China, our
satellites zeroed in on the jolly journeyer as he backtracked across
Russia, pausing in St. Petersburg for his once-yearly beard trim. After
the "Goatee Incident" of 1892, Santa refuses to let Mrs. Claus cut his
beard.
* Taking a short detour to Egypt to bring a little holiday cheer (and a
deep baritone voice) to a festive crowd at the famous Cairo Opera House,
Santa then skimmed his sleigh north across the Mediterranean Sea.
* In Italy, the cookie-loving Claus baffled Tuscan grape-growers by
requesting milk and cookies during late-night wine-tasting tours of
their renowned vineyards. He settled for cannolis, the famous Italian
pastry.
* The red-suited sleigh driver then leapfrogged across the Swiss Alps,
landing atop the Eiffel Tower to make a brief cell phone call to Mrs.
Claus from the most romantic city in the world.
Please keep an eye out for the next S.A.N.T.A. update, scheduled to cross the national wire at 7:00 p.m. EST.
