Frontier Airlines and Colorado Ninety-Nines Present Flight Without Fear

DENVER, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Despite its relative safety, hurtling through the sky in a metal tube is understandably nerve-wracking for many people. Thus, a new program has been created to help anyone whose need or desire to fly is hampered by fear.

Frontier Airlines is proud to announce it is sponsoring the Flight without Fear project run by the Colorado Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, a member of the International Organization of Women Pilots. The program consists of an introductory session followed by an eight-week course that uses education, systematic desensitization and relaxation to reduce nervousness and anxiety related to air travel. Participants will learn about how air travel works, with instructors discussing concepts including aerodynamics, weather, safety and air crew qualifications. Tours of Frontier Airlines' training and aircraft maintenance facilities and Air Traffic Control facilities will allow participants to see how it all works first-hand.

The program will culminate with a graduation flight between Denver and Salt Lake City, which will give participants an opportunity to test their newly learned skills.

"We are really proud of this program," said Donna Miller, a Frontier pilot and a volunteer instructor of the Flight without Fear Program. "If we can help just one person overcome their fear of flying, then the program can be considered a success."

The class meets on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Frontier Airlines General Office located at 7001 Tower Rd, Denver, CO 80249-7312. A program fee covers all materials, including the round-trip graduation flight. Registration is limited to 16 participants. The registration form, available at http://www.colorado99s.org/FWF.htm, and a $50.00 non-refundable deposit must be sent to the Colorado Ninety-Nines by Feb. 1, 2006, with the balance of $335 due at the first class.
